Important Dates

  • July 7 - Last day to register to vote
  • July 17 - First day of early voting
  • July 30 - Last day to request an absentee ballot
  • August 1 - Last day of early voting
  • August 6 - Election day

Registration

Applications for voter registration must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the election commission by July 7. For more information, see the voter registration requirements and instructions.

Early Voting: July 17 - August 1

Early voting runs from July 17 to August 1 at the Sonny West Auditorium and from July 23 to August 1 at the other locations. The polls are open from 8:00am to 6:00pm on weekdays, from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays. Registered voters can vote early at any of the following locations:

Voting

The polls open on August 6th from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Each voter may vote only at his or her assigned precinct location. The polling locations are listed below and are marked on our district 18 map with blue placemarks. You can find your polling location by examining the precincts in the election commission's PDF map or using the Polling Place Locator.

Absentee Voting

Absentee “by-mail” voting is available for registered voters who are unable to vote in person during early or regular voting. The complete list of valid reasons for voting by mail is given here. To request an absentee ballot, mail or fax the following form to the Davidson County Election Commission by July 30: absentee ballot request form. For question 7 on the form, the election is the August 6th County General Election.
